South West Communications (SWComms) was started in Exeter, Devon, in 1983, by the company’s now Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Tony Rowe OBE, initially selling computers and business telephony systems into a newly deregulated telephone.
Since then, SWComms has grown into a formidable single solution communications provider, offering a range of voice connectivity and data services for businesses and organisations of all sizes.
With its head office still in Exeter, along with its purpose-built data centre, SWComms now employs over 120 people and had a turnover of £18M in 2016. The Group continues to grow, both in size and technological expertise, to meet the ever-changing demand for more efficient, secure, scalable, cost-effective and reliable communication solutions.
Their market has expanded as well, with services enjoyed by clients in London, the South East, the West Midlands, and South Wales and of course the South West; where it serves a loyal and large customer base across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.
With their roots still firmly in Devon, SWComms has been supporting Premiership rugby team the Exeter Chiefs for 20 years and is currently the club’s main sponsor as well as the first team sponsor and Community Chiefs sponsor.
SWComms is a true regional business success story, winning numerous industry accreditations and prestigious business awards.
